Last night I had the distinct pleasure of completing Braid — an indie game on my PS3 (available on XBox, PC and Mac as well) that has been hailed as both “A Masterpiece”, and “One of the most interesting, satisfying, beautiful game experiences… ever.”
I couldn’t agree more.
On it’s face, Braid is a 2D platform game (think Mario Bros.) where you...

ShuffleThis: Fixin' Some Scratches. →
Thanks to an eagle-eared tipster (Here’s lookin’ at you, Goldie…), I discovered that the links to many of our mixes on ShuffleThis had gotten borked. As of now, the problem has been corrected for most (the rest should be fixed by end of tomorrow). If you see any other issues, let me know.
I’ve even done a quick tweak on the design and layout — which now features some handy buttons up top so...

"The Walking Dead" Ordered for AMC. →
I was thrilled when I heard AMC was developing one of my favorite comics into a series — with Shawshank helmer Frank Darabont, no less. Seems like Frank did a stand-up job, because they’ve just ordered it to series without even shooting the pilot. I’ll be curious to see how far they go with it — the comic can be absolutely brutal at times. (Also curious if Brantley will...

Another excellent Wired article on thievery (reminded me of their great piece last year on the world’s biggest diamond heist.)

ANY TIME TWO CHARACTERS ARE TALKING ABOUT A THIRD, THE SCENE IS A CROCK OF SHIT....
– David Mamet, to the writing staff of “The Unit”, 2005. (Full Letter is making the internet rounds today. He needs to resist the caps lock, but he makes valid points. The irony, of course, is that I always felt the episodes he wrote for “The Unit” were far and away the...

Your Friday Moment of Zen.
This video made me quite happy, even after I realized it was for a commercial.
(Update — while we’re on adorable animal videos, let’s discuss baby lambs.)

Last week, the Onion A.V. Club announced a wicked new project: “A.V. Undercover”. The premise is a fun one — they compiled a list of 25 songs for 25 different bands. Each week, one of the 25 bands comes in, takes a look at the list, and picks a song to cover. Once a song has been performed, it is crossed off — leaving the final band...

Things I Forgot To Post Over The Last 13 Weeks.

This crispy fried pork hock was my birthday meal this year. I think about it often. The crispy outside + succulent inside, falling off the bone = Best. Pork. Ever.
Big congrats to Chef Jim & Joseph Leonard.

In the world of elaborate one-take videos, Ok Go are, for the most part, tops. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that their latest video is taking the internets by storm (and rightly so). Fan of their career-making treadmill video (or fans of Mouse Trap) would be hard pressed to find a more entertaining 3:54 to watch.
Check it.
UPDATE: WIRED’s got a look at how the video was...
