So, had quite the good time with Matty, Petey, Seth and Molly at Zeppelin Hall, the new Biergarten in Jersey City. Aside from the libations (pitcher of Aventinus!), I heartily reccomend the Sausage Sampler. The place even thanked me personally, via Twitter, for coming out. Wunderbar!
Of course, our 6:30am bike ride came especially early today. Still, Seth was waiting for us downstairs, and looked like he was feeling much fresher than I. The beer and bratwurst weren’t sitting so well during the 7+ mile ride. Exercise!
After sharing a list of the 40 Most Violent Comics with my nerd-pals, Ding and Corey, I solicited some advice on titles to pick up for reading during my upcoming Vacation. So far, I have “Powers”, “Immortal Iron Fist”, and “Fables” to pick up and read during my time on the beach. Do any of you comics readers have a title you suggest I grab? Nerdly!
Speaking of comics, I picked up a new PS3 game this week — inFAMOUS. I had heard about it, but didn’t give it much thought. Somehow “you become empowered with the ability to control electricity and have to decide whether to use your powers for good or evin in a gritty, open world environment” didn’t interest me. That is, until I stopped in a Target last weekend and played some of the demo for five minutes in the electronics section. I’ve never gotten hooked on a game like that before. The ease and fluidity that the character moves with — along with the ability to shoot lightning from my hands — caught my attention immediately. The excellent reviews I found online sealed my purchase. I’ll probably start playing this weekend, and let you know how it goes. Electric!
