“Straight To Hell” (cover) by Lily Allen.
I’m starting to think that Lilly Allen has been scientifically engineered just for me. I mean, pop music isn’t usually my bag, as most of you know; but every time I turn and hear Lily, I can’t help but find an extra spring in my step. She puts out great poppy tunes like “Smile” and “LDN”, filled with ska influence and samples. (+1) She’s from London, and employs a delightful cockney-ish lilt when she sings. (+2)
And now, she’s gone and done a cover of what is perhaps my favorite Clash song of all-time. (+3)
I don’t know what laboratory cooked her up, but I’m glad they did. I’m hooked.
