I’ve been following comedian Aziz Ansari on tumblr & twitter for some time, so it was with great joy that I discovered him spending a few hours posting twitter replies to a bunch of characters from “The Wire”. (If you haven’t seen the show, you probably won’t get most of them. If you have, enjoy.) My favorites:
“Yo @StringerBell - you finish that Microeconomics homework for class tonight? Any luck with that question about elasticity and subsidies?”
“Yo @Kenard and @Dukie - sorry I forgot to pick y’all up from school. Lost track of time in the gym with @CuttyfromtheCut.”
“Hey @McNulty and @Bunk - you fellows want to grab a beer at Kavanaugh’s tonight?”
“Yo @WeeBay - homey you wanted me to send you a Tweet at 645 to remind you to feed your fish - here you go.”
“Yo @SlimCharles - @Joe and I got a proposition for you - down for some sushi tonight?”
“Yo @Snoop - hey I’m working on a woodworking project, can I borrow your nail gun tomorrow?”
“Yo @Bubbles, you got any more of them solid white tees?”
And then, about six hours later, at 2am:
“Yo @Bunk, you gotta come back to Kavanagh’s and take @McNulty home, dude just made out with some real skanky lady and shouldn’t be driving.”
Even on the internets, it’s all about comic timing.
