Sethmonster. (via Kluv32)
Almost fifteen years ago, I saw this kid sitting on the ground as our RA held the very first dorm meeting of our Freshman year (10th Floor, West Tower). He was excited to be in college. Very excited. He said things like: “Guys, do you realize that we could just go down to the dining hall and get food — in our pajamas — whenever we want? How cool is that?!”
I thought to myself: “Why the hell is there a 30-year-old guy living on our floor?”
Fast forward a decade-plus, and now we’re actually in our thirties. Most of us have gotten bigger (me) and balder (also me). But Goldie, he’s still the same giggling little cherubic guy I saw on the 10th floor, that (so many) people have come to know and love.**
He was ahead of the curve.
So, I think everyone should take a moment today and wish our unofficial class president, the Sethmonster — our great connector — a happy birthday.
It’s appropriate that his latest show, about a true New Jersey Superhero, will have its big opening tonight.
