Song For The Moment
“Substitution” by Silversun Pickups
I stepped outside, closing the gate behind me. I put my earphones in and pressed play. This song came on, and it was the perfect compliment to my post-office-walk; scoring my steps as I enjoyed the 70 degree sunshine on my shoulders. It was a picturesque New York day — the first true spring day after a winter of constant rain. Everyone had shorts or a skirt on, the sidewalk cafe’s were packed, even the new public area on the meridian (tables, chairs, trees) right at 14th and 9th was bustling.
Though my newly discovered allergies continued to assault my sinuses, I welcomed the spring with all my heart.
