Went to the Cyclones/Renegades game last night in Coney Island. It was “Glee” night at the park, which meant the stands were filled mostly with loud, disinterested, LOUD kids.
To be fair, the Cyclones didn’t seem very interested in the game, either (perhaps they were saving themselves for an appearance by The Nature Boy on Friday?), as they fell easily to Hudson Valley, 1-0.
You’d think that a 1-0 game means “Pitchers’ Duel” — but it was much more like a “Swinger’s Duel”. No patience.
You’re in Short Season Single-A for a reason, boys.
Afterwards, we headed down to the boardwalk and the beach, exploring the… gritty (i.e., Garbage-Filled) shore. Shoes were kept on. The siren call of the Wonder Wheel was resisted, and it was time to hop back on the subway for an hour-plus ride back to the mainland.
(Alas, no signs of The Warriors, anywhere.)
