I sorta love this, and yes — it makes me want to play again.

When Community premiered last year, I watched the pilot. There were some funny moments, but I didn’t love it and I had wayyyy too many DVR commitments as it was. Occasionally, a friend would mention that there was a very funny episode on, but I didn’t really make the time to catch it. Then, I happened to see last fall’s Halloween Episode — which was, without reservation, hi-larious. I made a mental note to start taping it.
Of course, I forgot about that until just two weeks ago. The first episode I taped was definitely funny (even if it didn’t reach Parks & Rec/30 Rock hilarity for me. That all changed last week when they did an episode oh-so-close to my nerdling heart: an entire episode about Dungeons and Dragons. They nailed a delicate balance between poking fun at D&D while lovingly capturing the spirit of the game. There was a Lord Of The Rings-esque narration throughout. They were (rightfully) playing the true form of the game: ADVANCED Dungeons & Dragons (even if it wasn’t 2nd Edition). And you also had Ken Jeong dressed up as a Drow.
What I’m trying to say is — if you love D&D, watch this episode. And if you’ve never played D&D, but love making fun of us who love D&D — watch this episode. It’s on Hulu.
Okay, now I understand what Google Wave is for. Playing Dungeons and Dragons online! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
UPDATE: Thanks to Gareth, I now have Google Wave! Time to start creating a character!
